Self-proclaimed "painter of the sacred and wild" Alexa Carson opens a new exhibit this week. On Thursday, October 16th, the Zeitgeist atrium plays host to Cycle, Carson's latest work.
"She's looking at the power, the cyclical nature of the body," says Annie Dugan of Cycle. "Specifically, those of women." Carson's work frequently focuses on birds and animals, and this time, on the female form and its natural cycles. All are welcome to the opening reception this Thursday from 5-7pm.
A few additional exhibitions to keep in mind include Stops Along the Way by Bill Shipley at Chester Creek Books as well as two art happenings if you're up for a road trip to the Twin Cities. Love Language by Dyani White Hawk opens on October 18th at the Walker Art Center and Inscriptions by Salad Hilowle at the American Swedish Institute comes to a close on October 26th.
You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
