No matter which side of the border you're on, there are art exhibits to check out - and there are a couple bridges so you can see art in either of the Twin Ports.
On the Duluth side, SCAPES by Margie Helstrom opens on Thursday, September 18th at Duluth Pottery, Tile and Gallery. Hermantown-based artist, Helstrom, works with paint and without predetermination to create pieces. "It plays in this wonderful space between abstraction and figurative work," says Annie Dugan of Helstrom's work. The opening celebration takes place from 5-7pm.
Over in Superior, UWS is opening two exhibitions in their galleries. Gloria Eslinger has two-dimensional paint, mosaic, and collage work in the Experimental Gallery. "Eslinger is not shy when it comes to engaging fully with all of the colors in our world and some that might be out of this world," says Dugan. In the Kruk Gallery is the exhibition Haunted Shapes by New York City-based artist Zach Nader.
And if you're looking to make art of your own, the Duluth Art Institute is hosting their regular Free Art Day on Saturday, September 20th from 1-4pm. Community members are invited to stop by their Lincoln Park space to enjoy the process of creating at their various art stations.
You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
