"I get artists," says Sara Collins, director of Art in Bayfront Park, happening August 16th and 17th. Collins, an artist herself, has been the organizer behind various art events in the Twin Cities, and has been the organizer behind Art in Bayfront Park for nine years now.
This weekend's event will include a wide variety of visual artwork, while also making space for the world of culinary arts. "They just bring their ten by ten tents and they operate just like the other artists, doing a lot of sampling and selling of their products," says Collins of the culinary artists who will be in attendance this weekend.
With over 100 artists in the large space, organization and flow were taken into consideration for those attending. All artists are located around Bayfront's paved loop. "You just walk and you're going to hit every artist," says Collins. "It's just such a lovely stroll."
Art in Bayfront Park is free to attend. The event is happening on Saturday, August 16th from 10am-5pm and Sunday, August 17th from 10am-4pm. More information is available on the Art in Bayfront Park website.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
