"It started when we completed the Lois King Education Center," says Head Naturalist with the Friends of Sax-Zim Bog, Clinton Dexter-Nienhaus about some recent changes to the Bog's infrastructure and the Friday Speaker Series happening this summer. "It allows us to maybe bring school groups in for other sorts of education activities, but it also allows us to try something new."
Informational talks were originally hosted by the Friends of Sax-Zim Bog as webinars during the pandemic. The focus was to build interest in the bog and to offer more regional history and research.
The next presentation in the series is happening this Friday, August 1st. Executive Director Sparky Stensaas will be sharing trail cam footage from difficult to access parts of the bog. Cameras have captured beavers, bobcats, and a pair of wolves that show up consistently.
More information about the series and the Sax-Zim Bog can be found on the Sax-Zim Bog website.
