From 11am-4pm this Saturday, August 9th, the parking lot behind Chester Creek Books at 1333 E Superior Street in Duluth will be overflowing with music and activities.
The Chester Creek Books Summer Bash was initiated by Tina Higgins-Wussow. "It was part of my grand plan for 2025 that we would have a party in the parking lot that was for the community," says Higgins-Wussow who took over operating duties of Chester Creek Books earlier this year. "My really grand plan for 2025 is for the community to know that there's a bookstore in this building."
The free-to-attend Bash will include live music from Woodblind, The Fontanelles, Emily Haavik, and Boss Mama. A flurry of additional activities fills out the day, including tarot, henna, open mic presentations by the Failed Poets Society, Drag Storytime, and a variety of local vendors. And, of course, the doors to Chester Creek Books will be open.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
