The first of the annual Hot Summer Nights Concert Series took place back in 1998. Other than a few years off for Covid, the event has provided free music to the community on Thursday nights during the summer at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet.
"The concerts take place in our beautiful indoor/outdoor amphitheater," says Director of Marketing and Communication Taylor Warnes. Outdoor events can often be considered a gamble, but due to the unique design of the stage at the college, rain or intense heat are never an issue. During inclement weather, the stage is shifted 180 degrees to face the college's newly renovated indoor space. "It's a really beautiful setting either way."
The first concert on Thursday, July 10th begins at 7pm and features Briand Morrison and Rox Berglund. More information about the series can be found on the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College website.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
