Community Connection: Philosophy After Hours with Bethany Henning

"Higher education not required. Stupid questions encouraged." That's how the crew behind Philosophy After Hours extends an inviting hand to their regular gatherings, the next of which happens on Tuesday, July 8th at Wussow's from 5:30-7:30pm.

For Bethany Henning, Professor of Philosophy at The College of St. Scholastica, Philosophy After Hours began as a podcast with friends but continues as an in-person gathering that is open to anyone. "Everybody's worried that they're not smart enough," says Henning. "This is really for adults who have not had a formal education at all or have not had a formal education in philosophy or have found that they wish that they were more familiar with some of the classic texts." The focus for tonight's meeting is Book Eight of Plato's Republic.

In addition to Philosophy After Hours, Henning is also a part of an eco-philosophy group. To get on a mail list for any of these events, drop Bethany an email.

You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
