There's no shortage of exhibits opening this Fall in the Northland. After a full October of visual art events, the focus remains on downtown Duluth.
The Duluth Art Institute (located in the US Bank Building, 130 West Superior Street) is hosting 34, a new exhibit from Tom Rauschenfels. The exhibit (open through January 6th) highlights print works from Rauschenfels on a variety of different papers that incorporate images created through various techniques. Annie Dugan says that Rauschenfels is "a real visionary when it comes to landscape and water and what printmaking can do."
Also at the DAI is Scatter/Gather, paintings and drawings by Brian Boldon. The exhibit includes 3D works that began as 2D sketches. Using a wide array of materials, Boldon creates artistic landscapes to create a visual connectivity.
Over at Lizzard's Art Gallery, the focus is on work from Sam Zimmerman. The new exhibit showcases Zimmerman's paintings that often combine animals with abstract images. There is a reception from 4-7pm on Friday, November 8th.
You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
