There's a certain magic to books. In Emma Törzs's Minnesota Book Award nominated Ink Blood Sister Scribe, the magic in books is literal.
Set in our world, the fantasy story focuses on three main characters who are scattered across the globe at the beginning of the book. The trio of protagonists each have a unique tie to the mechanics and history of the magic that the novel introduces. "There are spell books that can be read aloud by anybody," says Törzs. "You do have to be sort of a special person to writes the magic books, and then there's a subset of people who can sense or hear the magic books."
An avid globetrotter, Törzs brings that spirit to Ink Blood Sister Scribe. The reader follows the characters as they bound from continent to continent, often rushing toward a hidden truth, and almost always running from danger.
Ink Blood Sister Scribe is available at most libraries and booksellers, including at the Bookstore at Fitger's where Törzs will be this Saturday, April 27th from 2-4pm.
