Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Dirk Meyer

Dirk Meyer is celebrating his 10th season as the Music Director with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra. This Saturday night, Dirk and company are taking on a piece regarded by many as one of the best in human history: Mahler's Symphony No. 3. For tickets and information, visit DSSO online.

Though Dirk is now associated primarily with classical music, his first album was a live double LP of one of the biggest and most avant garde groups of the 80s, his first concert was a stadium show from one of the biggest tours of the 90s, and his guilty pleasure song has strong ties to a youth spent in Germany. "I would probably never play it when people are around."
