"I've baked and cooked... mostly just stand around and lick things," says Gigi, one of the young contestants on the PBS North show The Great Minnesota Recipe Jr. premiering on Thursday, November 23rd at 7pm.
A life-long history with cooking and with performing on theatrical stages in front of live audiences helped prepare Gigi for the experience on the show. "Everyone's reacting to what you're doing in the moment," says Gigi of a live audience. Working with a camera was a different story. "Nobody's saying anything. I'm just kind of there."
The experience of being on The Great Minnesota Recipe Jr. is just the start of Gigi's aspirations. "My cousins and I are working on a cookbook... and we're going to run a bakery," says Gigi. "If there's another cooking show... I'd be very pleased to be on it."
