Black-Eyed Snakes, Retribution Gospel Choir, Murder of Crows, Low. That's just the short list of projects that have included local musician Alan Sparhawk. With opportunities for collaboration around every corner in the musically-inclined Twin Ports, Sparhawk's list of bands is yet to be fully written.

Sparhawk's first album came from a source that will be familiar to some - they only cost a penny. His first concert was a Minnesota band that made a trip to Bemidji. And his guilty pleasure is an iconic voice for the ages. "There must be magic in this universe because that voice exists."

Back Tracks receives support from Minnesota Power Employees Credit Union. You can hear Back Tracks every Friday at 8am on Northland Morning.
