On May 18th from 5:30-8:30pm, the Duluth Grill will play host to Craft Connections, an event that incorporates free food and free music while highlights ceramics and cycling.
Lucas Anderson is one of the artists at the center of this event. Through an ARAC grant, Anderson has helped to build a celebration around the dedication of a fermentation crock that will be on permanent display at the Duluth Grill. Artist Ashley Hesse was a collaborator on the finished work.
The timing and location of the event are intentional. With the onset of the spring season, there is anticipation of mountain bike trails opening throughout the city. "It all came to together... to support not only Lake Superior Ceramics Guild, but also COGGS and make it a celebration of spring turning to summer," says Anderson.
In addition to free food, a ceramics sale to support local artists, and a silent auction from COGGS (Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores) there will also be a performance from Minnesota musician Nicholas David. Many will know David from his successful appearance on the third season of The Voice.
