Art and politics aren't usually in the same sentence, but David Wojnarowicz helped blur the lines with a film that comes recommended by Annie Dugan. "I can say about two words of the title," says Dugan of Wojnarowicz's film, which contains almost exclusively curse words. Wojnarowicz was an activist and artist who died of AIDs in 1992. "What I think is really special about this movie is that it takes audio journals that David did bout his work and of his life," says Dugan. "It's this really amazing piece... so much of what he's saying is relevant today."
For something more festive and for the whole family, check out the Junior League of Duluth's Festival of Trees at the DECC this upcoming weekend on November 12th and 13th. "They have 130 vendors," says Dugan. "These are artists, craftsman, crafters, cooks... from around the region." Patrons will receive a dollar off the entry fee with the donation of a canned good.
