On October 7th the Duluth Art Institute will celebrate three exhibits with a reception and artist talk from 6-9pm.
In the George Morrison Gallery patrons can see the work of Duluth-born Robert Patrick. The artist’s collection of enormous canvases and symbolic paintings is titled Currents. “You can really slow yourself down and spend time in the space enjoying it,” says Annie Dugan.
Avigail Manneberg’s exhibit Shared Bodies will be on display in the Steffl Gallery. The images may at first seem abstract, but look long enough and bodies start to emerge from soft colors.
In the Corridor Gallery is Home of Memories: Portraits and Stories of Iraqi Minnesotans by Jaafar Alnabi and Ahmed Alshaikhli. Through images, stories and artifact, the artists bring out personal memories of home, it's definition, and what it can be.
