Where's Art? with Annie Dugan: Online Spaces for Artists to Meet and Learn

Despite the difficulties in accessing many art galleries in these difficult days, Annie tells us about two great opportunities to interact with art this week online.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon from 5 to 6 p.m., Downtown Duluth Arts Walk and Blackbird Revolt are hosting an Arts Industry Social Hour, the third in a series of virtual panel discussions in the hopes of "creating a space to bring the Duluth arts community together to brainstorm about strategies, tools, and insights that might help individual artists, arts organizations and businesses to find new ways to support their art-making pursuits during these complex and challenging times."  Panelists will include Terresa Moses and Jordon Moses of Blackbird Revolt; and Flo Matamoros and Dr. Jamie L. Ratliff of Prøve Gallery and Collective.

Also, Springboard for the Arts has been working to connect with local artists across greater Minnesota with workshops and other tools that can help artists thrive, especially in the COVID-19 era.  An upcoming workshop on Saturday, August 15 is "Work of Art: Recordkeeping," discussing ways to track the revenues and expenses in your artistic career.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
