Dave Lynas, an artist and Studio Director at the Duluth Art Institute, speaks with Radio Gallery about the upcoming event at the Depot which takes place on Tuesday, April 26th called "Empty Bowl." This event benefits Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank.

Radio Gallery 4-20-2011: Dave Lynas

Lynas, one of the clay artists who is participating in this years "Empty Bowl" event, shares with Radio Gallery information about the wonderful community event "Empty Bowl" taking place on April 26th. The event begins on April 25th with "Sea of Bowsl" which is a gallery-style showing complete with wine and cheese reception where many bowls will be on display. There is also an Empty Bowl Online Auction where professionally crafted bowls are online to view and bid on. These works were handmade and donated by local professional artists. The "Empty Bowl" event takes place on Tuesday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at The Depot. The event costs $15 which includes a handmade bowl and a soup meal. The event benefits Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, providing food for more than 3 million meals annually to people in need throughout northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. $15 includes a handmade bowl and a soup meal.
