Radio Gallery 05-05-10: Matt Stengl

As the "Homegrown Music Festival" has expanded over the years, it has started featuring art forms beyond music, including video and photography. On Thursday, May sixth, Matt Stengl has a photo exhibition going up at Pizza Luce as part of Homegrown.

"Matt Stengl's Live Music Photography" includes over fifty photos of various local musicians. Stengl has been doing live music photography for years, and he has worked with various Duluth musicians, including Charlie Parr and Ian Alexy. Stengl met with Radio Gallery to discuss some of his past experiences, where he finds his inspiration, and what he intends to portray with his work.

Former Program Director, Maija Jenson teaches journalism in the Department of Communication at UMD and was a part of KUMD 2008-2019. She hosted a weekly arts program "Radio Gallery." She shares a lifetime of public radio listening, degrees in journalism and art and 20 years of public radio experience with KFAI, WHA, WSUM and KUMD.
