Where's Art: "Rug on Fire"

Annie Dugan discusses the work of Cherry Koch and her series Rug on Fire, while also touching on a figure in the arts community here in Duluth.

Zeitgeist is showcasing Rug on Fireby Cherry Koch during the month of March. It is a vibrantly colorful collection of portraiture of Duluth and Twin Ports artists. "There's something inherently wonderful about portraiture," says Dugan. "It comes from a place of the artist really looking at their subject." The people in the images were not just painted, but also interviewed. One such portrait and interview highlights local artist Adeline from Adeline Inc. who uses hair as an art form.

For those looking to spend more time at Zeitgeist, the theater is also screening several films including an upcoming fantasy series with showings of The Never-ending Story and The Princess Bride.

You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
