Jeff Arundel (l) and Dan Murphy (r) of The Scarlet Goodbye

Minnesota musicians Dan Murphy (of Soul Asylum and Golden Smog fame) and Jeff Arundel have teamed up to form this new project. When they joined us in the studio on June 30, 2022, they had released two singles online in anticipation of a debut album due out later in 2022. They chatted with the North 103.3's Christine Dean; Murphy talked about his Duluth roots and about coming back to a regular music project after leaving Soul Asylum back in 2012, and both musicians talked about how, despite coming from different musical backgrounds, they've come together for this new endeavor. They performed some additional songs from the album, plus we had a chance to hear the studio version of "Angel Dust," which you can hear in its entirety on their website. They’ll be back in Duluth to perform atReaderfest on July 15th at Bayfront Festival Park.
