  • The man who keeps KUMD on the air everywhere was born in San Diego, CA, but grew up in Minneapolis. He studied industrial electronics and broadcasting at Minneapolis’ Brown Institute before moving to Duluth in 1967 to work as an engineer at WDIO. He also spent time as the Chief Engineer at WDSE before joining KUMD in 1980. In 1995 Kirk was one of the originators of the local version of This Way Out, a program dealing with gay and lesbian issues that aired for many years on KUMD. Over the years his many hobbies have included biking, ham radio, and scuba diving.

  • Kevin works to form partnerships with local organizations to spread word of events to the KUMD audience. He began volunteering with KUMD in 2016, spinning tunes for The Local and The Lounge as "Marvin Themix". He enjoys finding new music, playing guitar, pick-up basketball, enjoying Duluth's outdoor activities and time with his family.
