We are very excited for our fifth concert featuring local bands Rich Mattson and the Northstars along with Space Carpet.
Rich Mattson has been active in the scene since the 80's playing in the Iron Range and quickly moving on to Minneapolis experimenting new wave, solo acoustic shows, and then touring with the band, the Glenrustles. After musicians came and went, the Glenrustles became Ol' Yeller where Mattson had far reaching success, signed with German label, Blue Rose Records, and toured the country.
Rich Mattson returned to the Northland and began Rich Mattson and the Northstars. The band consists of his partner Germain Gamberling, nephew Curtis, and friends Eli Bissonett and Russell Begum from the Glenrustles.
Rich continues to influence the Northland music scene through his production and recording work at his studio, Sparta Sound.
Space Carpet
Space Carpet will join Rich Mattson and the Northstarts with their genre busting, extreme and experimental folk sound. They were featured on the fourth edition of the Duluth Does Dylan album covering Things Have Changed and caught a following after the 2016 Homegrown Music Festival. We hope to see you at dynamic show featuring musicians both fresh and foundational.
