1/18 Reflections on the Civil Rights Movement and Black Lives Matter

Archives Foundation (via Flickr)

On this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, many are not only reflecting on the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s but are also comparing it to the current Black Lives Matter movement.

Jordon Moses, a graduate student in education and an adviser for the Black Student Association at UMD, talks about the similarities and differences between the two movements, including how technology plays a role and how the message of the movement is changed because of it.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
