KUMD continues our Community Week series on Northland Morning leading up to the MCCU Twin Ports Bridge Festival on Friday, September 11th.  We have a conversation with Liz Olson, the Duluth Organizing and Policy Manager for TakeAction Minnesota, about the work that they do locally and statewide to realize racial and economic equity across Minnesota.

Liz Olson has worked in the nonprofit community in varying capacities for the last 10 years. Most recently Liz worked as the Program Officer for a foundation which focused around health care access. Prior to that, Liz was the Director of Outreach and Organizing for a social safety net provider in Duluth. Her experience lies in educating, engaging, and mobilizing a variety of individuals for the common goal of a more just and compassionate community. Elizabeth holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Minnesota- Duluth and a MA in Congregational and Community Care from Luther Seminary in St. Paul.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
