The North 1033's Chris Harwood speaks with Chicago blues guitarist and bandleader Toronzo Cannon.

Toronzo Cannon was born in Chicago in 1968. He didn't get his first guitar until he was 22, but he has since taken it on with great force, releasing several albums over the last couple decades, two of which have been nominated for Blues Music Awards. His most recent album was the 2019 Alligator Records release, The Preacher, The Politician or the Pimp. He will be appearing with his band at the Bayfront Blues Festival in Duluth on Friday August 11th.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
