Interview with Fito de la Parra of Canned Heat

Canned Heat are the headliners for Duluth's Bayfront Blues Festival on Friday, August 12, 2022. The band has a long and fascinating history, from playing at Woodstock to working with some of their musical heroes, including John Lee Hooker, to losing members through the years. Drummer Fito de la Parra documented it all in his book Living the Blues. Now the only remaining member from the classic lineup of the band, de la Parra spoke with the North 103.3's Christine Dean about his history with the group, the blues musicians who inspired him, and the band's current lineup.

Christine is The North 103.3's Music Director, a host of Music Through the Day, and the producer of Live from Studio A. One of her favorite things about her job is the opportunity to share music from the Twin Ports’ many talented local artists. In her spare time she takes full of advantage of Duluth’s outdoors opportunities.
