This Americana singer/songwriter was known more for his work as a local environmental educator and activist before he decided to take his singing and guitar playing off the couch and on stage. He's releasing his debut album, Smoky Gold, on May 14; it features contributions from members of The Infamous Stringdusters, Kind Country, Feeding Leroy, and others. He joined us for a session in honor of Duluth's Homegrown Music Festival on May 3 , 2021.

Coverage of the Duluth Homegrown Music Festival on KUMD is made possible by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Christine is The North 103.3's Music Director, a host of Music Through the Day, and the producer of Live from Studio A. One of her favorite things about her job is the opportunity to share music from the Twin Ports’ many talented local artists. In her spare time she takes full of advantage of Duluth’s outdoors opportunities.
Malachy began his radio career as a student DJ with The Basement at KUMD. He fell in love with radio and decided to make a career in it. He is now the host of Music Through The Day and The Local on The North 1033, as well as their Traffic Coordinator and Assistant Music Director. In his spare time, he enjoys seeing live music and hunting for records.
