All the signs of summer are here... except for the heat. Well, the wait for warmer temps might not be a long one. Highs in the 90s appear to be in the forecast for next week.

Dragonflies are showing up, as is typical this time of year. Butterflies (which Larry Weber notes are usually a July critter) are also out in droves. And on the insect front, fireflies can be spotted in rural areas at dusk.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
