For the past six years, Carlton Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) has been connecting residents to plants via their annual Native Plant Sale.

"We have a really strong plant sale. It's recognized as one of the biggest in the state," says Marcie Peeters, Community Conservationist with Carlton SWCD. "The goal is to get native plants more accessible to the community here."

Plant orders can be made through the Carlton SWCD website through June 14th. Pick up for plants takes place on June 26th at the Pollinator Powerhouse event. There will be live music, kids' activities, a food truck, and an opportunity to purchase plants if you missed the order-by deadline. The event goes from 11am-5pm at the Carlton County Transportation Building

And if you don't know how to best create a space for native plants on your property, Carlton SWCD has answers. "We're helping people navigate different ways that they can use these plants for conservation projects," says Peeters. Up next is a free Rain Garden Workshop being offered at Moose Lake Brewing Company from 6-7:30pm on June 11th.

You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
