Backyard Almanac: A First Look at (and listen to) February

Although February is the shortest month, we'll still see a lot of it. Our daylight hours will make large gains by the end of the month, going from less than 10 hours to more than 11. The temps are expected to get a little warmer, and typically snowfall isn't headline news in February.

Out in nature, keep your eyes and ears open, especially for the birds. On a recent walk, Larry Weber heard a great horned owl out in the woods. Closer to home, Larry is still getting plenty of visitors to the birdfeeder, including woodpeckers and bluejays.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
