Backyard Almanac: Cold Enough?

It's cold.

In other news, snowfall for January has been about typical. As the season goes, we've gotten about 40 total inches, which is slightly behind normal, but anyone looking for a snowy winter shouldn't be disappointed.

Despite the cold, Larry has been spotting plenty of intrepid birds at the feeder. Lots of woodpeckers and jays are paying frequent visits. On his walks, Larry has been kept company by ravens, crows, and even some owls.

And to top things off, there are plenty of signs of critters from the weasel family bounding about. Mink, weasels and otters are on the move and hopping through the snow in search of food.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
