Community Connection: Sleigh Rides and More at Forest History Center

Two large, light brown horses pull a big red sleigh through a snow-covered forest, next to a log cabin
Forest History Center

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling. It's a sound that's recently been emanating from the Forest History Center in Grand Rapids.

Six draft horses have been spending time taking patrons on snowy sleigh rides at the center. Along with seasonal sleigh rides, the Forest History Center focuses on the history of logging in the area throughout the year. Those taking a sleigh ride can expect the experience to last about an hour between the ride and time by a bonfire drinking coco.

In addition to sleigh rides, the winter will also include Snowshoe Saturdays and a winter lecture series at the center. For more information about events or to sign up for a sleigh ride, visit the Forest History Center website.

You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
