Most migrants have made their way through the Northland and headed to warmer climates to the south. However, there are plenty of birds that spend the winter here in the Northland.

In the coming weeks, the prevalence of wintering birds will be on the rise. Keep your eyes open for Blue Jays, crows, ravens, Black-capped Chickadees, woodpeckers and more. They'll all stick around to keep us company throughout the cold month.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
