Backyard Almanac: AutWin Begins

There's plenty to say about the lack of rain. Even with the recent spattering of showers in the Northland, most of the area is only reporting about half an inch for the entire month of October.

Even though the rain isn't falling, the leaves are. With the majority of the leaves now off the branches and on the ground, AutWin is (if not upon us) at least near. The seasonal bridge between Autumn and Winter (after the leaves but before the snow) offers a unique opportunity to view open forests, contours in the landscape, and animals scurrying about in the woods.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
