Backyard Almanac: Migrating on the Ground

With the arrival of October, migration continues, but don't just look up at the raptors and songbirds making their way south. Other creatures are also in transit, just more slowly. Wooly bear caterpillars are on the move, as are snakes.

In the world of leaf color, most of the Northland is still on its way toward peak color. Plenty of green still lingers in the forest, but - as is natural - that won't last much longer.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
