Green Visions: Eco Experience at the 2025 Minnesota State Fair

A mainstay since 2006, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's Eco Experience at the State Fair offers free experiences and insights regarding human impact on the state's natural environment.

"People who stop by our building can learn from experts to learn what you can do to improve our air, water, land and climate right here in Minnesota," says Lauren Lewandowski of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. "Everything in our building is absolutely free for people to do and to experience. It's great for families, it's great for people who love Minnesota, the outdoors, and our natural resources."

Along with information and resources, the experience also includes several visually striking attractions. A large monarch butterfly suspended from the ceiling can be manipulated into flapping its wings by fairgoers pulling on a rope. Also, Bagnado is back. The towering cyclone of plastic bags (used to highlight waste in the state) will be spinning throughout the fair - this year with a nod to a classic film.

More information about Eco Experience or the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency can be found online as well as at the Eco Experience building, located at the east end of Randall Avenue at the Minnesota State Fair from August 21st - September 1st.

You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
