Backyard Almanac: Heated History

So far, this summer hasn't been overbearing when it comes to heat. This is especially true when compared to a stretch of early-July days in 1936 when the temps varied between high 90s and low 100s with one day peaking at 106 degrees.

Flash-forward to 2025 and there's plenty going on in the outdoors. Flowers are still in bloom, berries are beginning to ripen, and mushrooms are showing up thanks to recent rainfall.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
