As the year winds down, Christmas Bird Counts are happening all over the Northland. But even in the wintertime, birds are rather commonplace. For those seeking something slightly stranger, keep your eyes open for swollen lichen, as well as the rare December insect sighting.

Next week, Larry Weber will recap 2024 and give us his initial thoughts and observations about 2025.
