The current generation of high school students have grown up surrounded by conversations about climate change. For Aspen and Sasha, students at Harbor City International School, early memories of environmental action have led to their involvement with Action Club.
Early years of recycling, composting, and cleaning up natural areas have led to involvement and action around the community. Through Harbor City International School, Sasha and Aspen are finding ways to apply their energy with beach clean-ups, pollinators, and many other ideas brought forward by students.
The work of the Action Club at Harbor City may be getting more attention in the near future. Students have voiced an interest in becoming more active on social media and spreading the word about goals and aspirations for a greener future.
You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
