As is apparent, the Minnesota State Fair is a concentration of a variety of things that sum up the passions of Minnesotans. There is no shortage of animals, music and food. There's also Eco Experience, an attraction filled with hands-on exhibits to encourage a greener Minnesota.
Since 2006, fairgoers have had the opportunity to visit, and often times linger in, the Eco Experience building. "My favorite thing is seeing the variety of people who come in there and how long they stay," says Stephen Mikkelson from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Among fan favorites like a giant cardboard moose and EV exhibits, this year also marks the return of Bagnado, a towering cyclone of plastic representing just 5 seconds worth of plastic that goes to waste in the state of Minnesota.
More information about Eco Experience or the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency can be found online as well as at the Eco Experience building, located at the east end of Randall Avenue at the Minnesota State Fair from August 22nd - September 2nd.
You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
