Backyard Almanac: Greening and Growing

"Spring in the Northland, I just love it," says Larry Weber. Though the season is seemingly a short one, there's so much to relish.

The days continue to bring big change to the area. While May typically changes our landscape from drab to a vibrant green, June embellishes on that color with a lot of growth. Next month is the only time of the year that some trees grow. Depending on sunshine and rain levels, that growth can be noticeable.

When the sun goes down, keep an eye out for fireflies. Usually, they are first spotted in trees, but inevitably they'll be showing up many places through the countryside.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
