The world of art isn't limited to windowless studios. Sometimes to see art, you've got to get outdoors.
On Saturday, July 11th from 11am-5pm, the 2026 Rose Fest is happening at Leif Erickson Park in Duluth. "It's just a wonderful celebration of this true gift that we have," says Annie Dugan. "It's a visual art piece that is going to change every year, it's not necessarily a static thing, it's going to literally grow and change and offer a chance for folks to walk through it. It's almost a sculptural thing." People will be present to talk about the roses and present their knowledge.
While you're out and near the lake, you can see other art as well with guidance from the Waterfront Sculpture Walk map. There are a wide variety of sculptures through Canal Park, Gichi-ode Akiing, Sister Cities Park, and more.
And if you're looking for a book recommendation for the summer, Annie suggests opening The Boticelli Secret by Marina Fiorato. The story is centered around a model who finds a code in one the artist's work leading to a thrilling adventure across 15th century Italy.
You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
