This Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th, is the 54th Annual Park Point Art Fair. From 10am-5pm each day, Park Point will be alive with artists presenting high-quality work, and patrons will be browsing and buying.
"It started with some artists throwing their wares out during the smelting," says Annie Dugan of the fair's origins. "Quickly they realized it's nice to actually be above thirty degrees... so they moved it to the last weekend in June, and it's been this wonderful institution." Local, regional, and national artists have made a point of being a part of the fair over the years, all of which are open to talking about their work. "They wouldn't be at an art fair if they didn't want to talk to you," says Dugan.
More information about this year's gathering can be found on the Park Point Art Fair website or on their Facebook page.
Annie Dugan also has a new book recommendation for summer readers. The Art Spy by Michelle Young focuses on art stolen by nazis and the efforts and importance of returning the art to their rightful owners.
You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
