Are you a storyteller? According to Margi Preus, the answer is an obvious "yes."
"Everybody does tell stories... people do it naturally. I think it's sort of ingrained in us," says Preus, award-winning author of many books for young readers. This Saturday, May 9th, Margi Preus will be at the Main Duluth Public Library for the We Are All Storytellers event from 11:30am-12:30pm to share experiences, participate in conversation, and to lead interactive exercises for attendees of all ages.
For Margi, her interest in storytelling began in kindergarten when she was motivated to start creating theatrical plays. Although imagining stories and telling tales is something that Preus sees as innate in all people, picking up books is the best way to truly hone the craft. "What I really would like to do is instill an interest in reading," says Preus. "You're not really going to be a writer if you're not a reader."
