Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Andy Frye

Two people side by side in profile holding cameras in a dark space

Andy Frye is one of the catalysts behind Dance TV, a stage production featuring wild dance numbers, big characters, and a behind-the-scenes storyline. Last October, Dance TV: Halloween premiered in Duluth to sold-out shows. This Saturday, April 18th, from 8-10pm is Dance TV's Spring Fling at the Flame in Duluth. The event is a dance party and fundraiser to keep Dance TV going into the future.

Andy's answers to our Back Tracks questions all gravitated to catchy hooks. His first album got played over and over, much to the dismay of his four siblings. After a radio contest victory, Andy's first concert took him to the nosebleeds of Target Center in Minneapolis. And his guilty pleasure song is one that he used to balk at when his father played it, but things have changed. "It just has pure nostalgia... pure love."

You can hear Back Tracks every Friday at 8am on Northland Morning.
