Halcyon House is a worker owned cooperative that focuses on wellness. Acupuncture, massage, sound bathing, tea, physical therapy, social gatherings and more can be found within the walls of 11 E Michigan Street.
Coming up, there is a skijoring “Tea Talk” event happening on March 10th. Tea Talks are regular gatherings and presentations by people with expertise in a designated topic. Past topics include regional soil conservation, the history of swing dancing and jazz, and the psychology behind addiction. A group discussion follows the presentation. “We like to geek out about this stuff,” says Josh Jones, one of the founding members. “It’s just a fun way to get to know your neighbors, the people in the community, and find out some really neat information.”
The tea house component at Halcyon is still being developed, but retail tea and accessories are available. Sound bathing opportunities happen on the second Sunday of each month. More information about offerings and events is available on the Halcyon House website. Halcyon House is located directly below the former location of the Electric Fetus in downtown Duluth.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
