Maybe there's not enough softness and kindness in the world right now. Well, the local art scene might just be the cure for that ailment.
Kindness, Crafts and Connections is an even happening at the Imaginarium on W 1st Avenue in downtown Duluth. "Kindness costs nothing but means everything" is the stated purpose behind the gathering, which will include treats, crafts and community.
Moki Stitches and Yarn Harbor are two knitting stores in the area that have plenty of softness to offer. While Moki Stitches is newer to the scene, Yarn Harbor continues to offer knitting classes as they have for some time. "Yarn shops really are hyper local," says Annie Dugan. If you're up the shore, you can stop in to shop at Playing with Yarn in Knife River.
The Duluth Fiber Handcrafter's Guild also continues to provide the softness. They're Facebook group is very active, and the guild can be contacted online.
You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
