Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Shanna Willie

Cast in blue light, a woman smiles while playing a drum set; camera angle is at a right diagonal

Shanna Willie has held down the beat for many local bands over the years. On Saturday night, February 14th, you can catch the drummer teaming up with both Sister Veery and Embalming Eva for a Valentine's Day Showcase at Sacred Heart Music Center. Tickets are available online or at the door. The show begins at 7:30pm.

Although uncertain, Shanna thinks her first album was a popular one from the mid-90s. Her first live concert experience was also lost to memory, but likely involved a few local artists who are still playing in the area. And for her guilty pleasure song Shanna lets content slide in favor of musical craftsmanship. "The way he strings his words together, the rhythms that he comes up with... are amazing."
