In December, Twin Ports Comedy hosted the finals for the Funniest Person in the Twin Ports Stand-up Comedy Competition. After the jokes had settled, it was Brekken Thompson who was named this year's winner. You can see Brekken at any and all of the open mics in town, including Tuesdays at Jade Fountain, Wednesdays at The Caddy Shack, and on Thursdays at Dubh Linn Irish Brew Pub.
Brekken's first impactful albums were of popular country artists that his dad used to play. His first concert was at one of the biggest venues in the region to see one of the biggest bands of all time. And his guilty pleasure song is more of a guilty pleasure album - one that has never become commercially available for legal reasons. "It's sort of a crime how good it is and it's sort of a crime that it exists."
