With an extensive and successful music career as a solo artist and as a member of the hip-hop collective Doomtree, Dessa has become a celebrated fixture of the Minnesota music scene. Lately - in a departure from her usual pastime - the artist has been trying her hand at baking, posting images of ornately decorated homemade cakes on social media.
As to her personal music history, Dessa's was formed with the help of an angsty album gifted to her from a family friend. Her first concert was a mother-daughter outing to see two big names on the same bill. And her guilty pleasure song is rooted in trips to school on the bus. "A lot of the Top 40 back-to-school jams are lodged in there pretty good."
